Inhalation Conscious Sedation

The use of inhalation conscious sedation, or nitrous oxide/oxygen, is a common and well known way to reduce a patient's anxiety about dental treatment.  Also known as "laughing gas", this method involves having the patient breathe in a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen.

The advantage of this method of sedation is that patients recover promptly after removal of the sedative and are able to leave the dental office unescorted.
