Oral Conscious Sedation

Occasionally a patient will have a greater than average degree of dental anxiety and feel nervous about the procedure they are about to undergo.  There are a couple of options that Dr. Mabry can use to ease the stress of the upcoming dental appointment.  One option is to prescribe an oral conscious sedative to be taken at home one hour before the appointment.

If the drug is administered before the procedure, it is important that the patient not drive to or from the appointment.   Patients who have taken an oral conscious sedation drug should not drive a car for 24 hours following their appointment.
